DE BOOKSHOP
Philippe Luiggi took over the bookshop Denise Weil in 1989, located at rue du Dragon 1 in the 6th arrondissement of Paris, specialized in avant-garde reviews, ephemera and rare books concerning the artistic movements of the twentieth century : Dada, Surrealism, Futurism, Expressionism, Visual & Sound Poetry, Avant-gardes of the years ‘60 to ‘80.
He was also associated with the John Benjamins bookshop located in Amsterdam, with which he published 23 thematic catalogues. They also worked on several important archives, among which those of Henri Chopin, Gianni Bertini and Jacques Lacomblez.
In November 2019, he is the expert (associated with Benoit Forgeot) of the auction of the library Geneviève and Jean-Paul Kahn “Mille nuits de rêve”, étude Bergé & associés.
THE AVANT-GARDES AND BELGIAN SURREALISM
Settled in Belgium since 2006, Philippe Luiggi developed the field of the Belgian avant-garde by searching for documents of or about artists of Antwerp : Josef Peeters, Victor Servranckx, Floris and Oskar Jespers, Jos Leonard, Karel Maes, Michel Seuphor…
His second field of expertise is Belgian surrealism, with such artists as René Magritte, Paul Nougé, E.L.T. Mesens, Marcel Mariën…

Philippe Luiggi is a member of the CLAM-BBA (Chambre professionnelle belge de la Librairie Ancienne et Moderne) which is a part of the ILAB (International League of Antiquarian Booksellers) and of the CNES (Chambre Nationale des Experts Spécialisés).

Two or three catalogues are published every year.
